Hello and thank you beforehand,
My laptop is having some charging issues. While it's on it says that it's not charging, and looking online I found the unistall the battery and adapter solution. After trying that it initially seemed to work, because while off the charging light was orange, but as soon as I started it immediately turned white again. Trying the solution again gave me the same results, so I turned it off without uninstalling the devices but it didn't turn orange.
Right now I'm at a loss for what to do, so I was wondering if this is a common issue that has a proven solution. I have also tried the AC adapter and battery troubleshooting in with the F2 start and both seem fine. If it helps, I'm also using the original adapter and the device is about 1 month old.

Hi! @AbsoluteGarbage,
Have you tried charging your laptop using a different adapter or battery?
Were there any recent windows update on the PC?
Try updating the BIOS and chipset drivers on your PC and check if it helps.
Try updating the BIOS using this link. Click Here
Also, update the chipset driver using this link. Click Here
You can update other drivers on your PC using the HP support assistant.
Refer this article to know more information about using the HP support assistant. Click Here
Run Power Troubleshooter.
On Cortana, enter Troubleshooter then select Troubleshooting.
Click Improve power usage to open the window, then click Next.
This should run the troubleshooter, and can fix any detected issues. You may try restarting your computer and charge your battery again.
Also, Try performing a hard reset on your laptop and check if it helps.
Turn off the computer.
Remove the computer from any port replicator or docking station.
Disconnect all external connected peripheral devices such as USB storage devices, external displays, and printers.
Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.
Remove the battery from the battery compartment.
With the battery and power cord unplugged, press and hold the Power button for about 15 seconds to drain any residual electrical charge from the capacitors.
Insert the battery and plug the AC adapter back into the laptop, but do not connect any of the peripheral devices.
Press the Power button to turn on the computer.
The computer starts normally or a startup menu opens.
NOTE:
If your computer does not start after pressing the Power button, then a power reset did not resolve the startup issue. SeeAdditional resources for further troubleshooting steps.
If a startup menu opens, use the arrow keys to select Start Windows Normally, and then press the Enter key.
Let me know how it goes!
Happy Weekend! 🙂
