Battery percentage shows a constant value, (last charged value) and doesn't decrease untill it powers down due to low battery. Also it charges to 99% but never goes to 100%.
I have updated bios version but the problems ddidn't fixed.

Hi @Nora53,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP Victus 16.1-inch gaming laptop is experiencing issues with its battery indicator and charging process. Here are a few steps you can take to diagnose and potentially fix the problem.
Calibrate the Battery:
- Fully charge the laptop to 100% (or as close as it will get).
- Disconnect the charger and let the battery drain completely until the laptop shuts down.
- Recharge the laptop to 100% without interruption.
Update Battery Drivers:
- Go to Device Manager (right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager).
- Expand the "Batteries" section.
- Right-click on "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" and select "Uninstall device".
- After uninstalling, restart your laptop. Windows will automatically reinstall the drivers.
Check HP Support Assistant:
- Open HP Support Assistant (if you don't have it, download it from HP's website).
- Check for any battery or BIOS updates available and install them.
Run HP Battery Check:
- Open HP Support Assistant.
- Go to the "My devices" tab.
- Select your laptop and then go to the "Troubleshooting and fixes" tab.
- Run the "Battery Check" tool to see if it identifies any issues.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Turn off the laptop.
- Disconnect the charger and remove any external devices.
- Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds.
- Reconnect the charger and power on the laptop.
Battery Health Settings:
- Some laptops have a battery health management feature that prevents the battery from charging to 100% to extend its lifespan. Check your BIOS settings for any such feature and adjust it if necessary.
Check for Physical Battery Issues:
- If the issue persists, there might be a physical problem with the battery itself. Check for any signs of swelling or damage.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
