So since I bought my omen 15 i7 I've been struggling with heat issues. It seems the only advice hp has given is to update drivers which is useless.. and the only other accepted answer was that this is expected of these pcs. Under load it instantly jumps to 100c. Yikes! I installed Intel extreme tuning utility and in advanced tuning settings I decreased turbo boost short power max to 45w and turbo boost power max to 10w. What a difference! I know this should inhibit performance but I'm still playing major titles with no problems yet and temps are staying in the 50c range. I will increase if I encounter issues and have thermal room to do so but I haven't needed to yet. Why do they come like this from factory??? Just overheating themselves for no reason?? Easy fix too after three years it's sad that hp couldn't provide this solution.
