I have a cmos 502 error, which is a dead cmos battery. I opened it up to replace the cmos battery and find out its soldered to the motherboard somewhere..... I saw on another forum I should send it in for repair at an HP service center thing. And I tried to fill out a ticket or something but its virtually impossible with their revolving door of a support system. How do I go about doing this..... thaannkss

The notebook does not have a CMOS battery.

The main battery also serves as the CMOS battery to maintain the BIOS and system clock settings.

Below is the link to the service manual.

Maintenance and Service Guide

Chapter 3 has the list of parts.

You will find no CMOS or RTC (Real Time Clock) battery part number.

Chapters 5 & 6 have the component removal and replacement procedures.

You will find no procedure to remove or replace a CMOS or RTC battery.
