OMEN by HP Laptop 15-dc0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I purchased this OMEN by HP 15dc gtx1070 gaming laptop a couple of months ago from someone who received it as a gift so there is no warranty on it.

I've left it on for a few minutes to go grab a bite (about 3 months after buying it) and i came back home to it turned off and showing no signs of life, nor charging (no light indicator on). So I panicked and asked my brother to see whats wrong with it (he is good at fixing simple things). anyways we opened the laptop up and did some simple tips on google/hp site, to test it with or without the battery, etc. In conclusion we tried every way and nothing happened, no signs of life, every site and link ended up saying that the motherboard was defective.

Is there a way for me to restore the motherboard or was it supposed to be replaced for [free] by hp? (bear in mind this laptop isnt even a year old and used it for about 2-3 months before it "broke down")

. no it was never opened by the previous owner (no signs)

(i got the motherboard replaced for ALOT in the end but i still want to know)

Welcome to HP Support

The Warranty starts from the date the customer purchased it and not when it was opened.

If you don't have a warranty, you can still get it fixed for a charge
