Hi @NaveenVarma8803,

The "Omen cam and voice" is not a physical camera. It is a virtual camera driver that gets installed by the OMEN Gaming Hub software. Its purpose is to act as a "filter" to enhance your real "HP camera" with features like background blur or noise removal.

Your assessment software is getting confused because it sees two camera devices (one real, one virtual). Even though you uninstalled OMEN Gaming Hub, the virtual driver was likely left behind.

Here is how to solve this problem, starting with the most likely solution.

Solution 1: Find and Disable the Hidden Driver in Device Manager

You were right to check Device Manager, but this driver is often hidden.

  1. Click the Start button, type "Device Manager", and open it.

  2. In the Device Manager window, click "View" from the top menu and select "Show hidden devices". This is the most important step.

  3. Now, look for the "Omen" driver in these three categories (it could be in any of them):

    • Expand the Cameras section.

    • Expand the Imaging devices section.

    • Expand the Sound, video and game controllers section.

  4. You should now see the "HP camera" and a separate entry for "Omen Cam & Voice" or "HP Virtual Camera".

  5. Right-click on the "Omen Cam & Voice" device and select "Disable device". (Choose Disable, not Uninstall for now, as it's easier to reverse if needed).

  6. Restart your computer.

After restarting, open Chrome and go to your assessment site. The "Omen cam and voice" option should no longer appear.

Solution 2: Set Your Default Camera in Chrome

If the assessment software allows, you can sometimes fix this in Chrome's settings.

  1. Open Chrome, click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner, and go to Settings.

  2. Click "Privacy and security" on the left menu.

  3. Click "Site Settings".

  4. Scroll down and click "Camera".

  5. At the top, you will see a dropdown menu. Make sure your real camera ("HP camera" or "HP True Vision") is selected as the default.

Note: Proctored assessment software often ignores this setting and scans all system devices, which is why Solution 1 is the most reliable fix.

Solution 3: The "Reinstall-to-Uninstall" Method

If you still cannot find the driver after showing hidden devices, the driver may be orphaned. The fix is, strangely, to reinstall the software to remove it properly.

  1. Reinstall OMEN Gaming Hub from the Microsoft Store.

  2. Open the OMEN Gaming Hub application.

  3. Go through all its settings. Look for a section related to "Camera," "Streaming," "Oasis," or "Enhancer" and find the toggle to turn off the "Omen cam and voice" feature.

  4. Once it's turned off inside the app, you can safely uninstall OMEN Gaming Hub again. This usually removes the virtual driver correctly.

Start with Solution 1, as it is the fastest and most likely to work.

I hope this helps.
