Hello,
I have had this HP g6 for many years. Came with Win7, updated to Win10. I am going to Linux Mint as MS is no longer supporting older hardware.
I've installed current Linux Mint with XFCE and tried to get OBS to work. Fails to initialize. GPU not found.
Question: is the integrated Intel graphics not a GPU? Is there a workaround?

Hi:
Yes, the onboard Intel graphics is the GPU for your notebook.
I suggest you consult a Linux support community for any questions you have regarding Linux support, since your notebook is only supported for Windows.
I don't know of anyone on this forum that can help you with Linux questions.
If you are interested in installing W11 on your PC as is, you can read this discussion for how I upgraded several HP and Dell notebook and desktop PC's that did not meet the W11 hardware requirements to W11 22H2/22H3.
You have to use the version of the Rufus utility that I zipped up and attached in the discussion (v3.18).

If the in-place upgrade fails, you should be able to clean install W11 using the bootable W11 installation flash drive you made with Rufus.

No, I think this laptop is toward the end of its useful life. Windows 7 was the apex of OS on this laptop. I'll use it for trying out Linux distributions. I have newer, superior laptops for OBS. The g6 has been a solid laptop for more than 10 years. Have added RAM and a 2 Tb SSD drive to it. Hate to get rid of otherwise fully functional hardware only because it is "old".
