Pavilion 15-CX0154TX
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm considering buying the Pavilion 15-CX0154TX laptop for work and gaming, but it comes with a single channel 8GB ram. I'm wondering if there are dual ram slots and which type they are (e.g. SDRAM, SODIMM, etc.) because I would like to upgrade it to 2x8GB if possible. I have searched the internet far and wide and has so far yielded no answers.

Hello @dredlex

You can find the answer in the Maintenance Manual. Page 1.

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05985643

It will take up to 16GB (2x8GB) of (SoDimm=laptop memory) DDR4-2666 memory.

What you want to do is wait to get the laptop, then use a tool like CPUz or Speccy and see what the timings are of the existing ram stick, then purchase a 2nd stick that matches those timings.

Its non-customer accessible so be careful not to damage anything, or it could void the warranty.
