Hp omen 15-dc1088nr
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I want to purchase this laptop and would like to know if the panel is gsync or not

It is written on the product specs but I can't find any reviews that talk about it bring gsync

Hello @Vink221

According to the new Manual for that new series dc1000, only the 244Hz panel is gsync equipped.

Your model only has the 144Hz panel. My assumption is that it will not work.

I have asked HP about this but got no answer.

I asked up as well a couple days back and they confirmed that it has gsync

But stuff like this make me wary of getting it since it isn't said anywhere other than on the specs page

Also after doing a bit of research the older models with a 1060 were equipped with a 144hz gsync panel

So this is all very confusing for me

Can someone come go confirm for sure that the omen 15-dc1088nr has gsync ?

At the moment of writing this, the only model I can find with the newer 2000 series GPUs and a Gsync panel is the custom configure to order model (in the USA only). But it only comes with up to a 2070 gpu.

I have asked and not received an answer. I had another user who had this question also. He had a 144Hz panel on the dc1000 series and he said it did not have gsync.

Yes i understand most of the dc 100 series don't but why would they put g-sync enables on the specs page ?

and i also got this response form a sales rep

The specs page does NOT say that display panel is gsync enabled.  Look at the specs page again where it says Display..... https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/omen-by-hp-15-dc1000-laptop-pc-series/26122182/document/c063802...

Im guessing the Representative misunderstood your question. I see this happen all the time.

The laptop supports "gsync technology" in general because you can connect an external gsync enabled display to the HDMI port. That has nothing to do with the fact that the display panel has it or not.

oh **bleep**..i guess you're right 😕

This is really disappointing to learn

ill send another email inquiring about the features and asking specifically if the display is a gsync panel

though i have seen reviews of this model form 2018 having a gtx 1060 and i7 8950h having a 144hz gsync panel

so maybe there is some hope

you can see here that this hp omen that the person reviewed does infact have a 144hz gsync panel

do you know how i can order a hp omen 15 with an rtx 2060, i7 9750h, 16gb ram, ssd(+hdd is optional) and a 144hz gsync panel ?

id also prefer the 4 zone rgb if that is possible

That article was NOT model specific, only series. The hardware he referred to was for both the first and second generation of that series. The first gen had gsync on the 144Hz panel, the second gen manual is saying it is now only on the 240Hz panel and Ive read complaints over the RTX 2060 not having a gsync display enabled when the customer was convinced it should have.

What is available also depends on what country you are in. If in the USA, it pointed to a link that had the second gen model that had an option for the gsync panel.

As you are so convinced my information it wrong, contact the HP Store and tell them what you specifically want. IF they sell you a model with 144Hz and gysnc with a 2060 and it works, you are golden. I will even sing Hallelujah for you.

But if and when it doesn't, you will have to take it up with HP directly.

I will not assume anything unless I have factual evidence to back it up and I don't have access to that model to test with. Im sorry.
