Hi @Chase2090,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your OMEN gaming mouse is registering double clicks on the screen even though you’re only clicking once physically. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Check Windows Mouse Settings

Go to Settings → Devices → Mouse.

Click on Additional mouse options → Buttons tab → Ensure Double-click speed is not set too low.

Adjust and test to see if it reduces accidental double clicks.

Test on Another Computer

Connect the mouse to another PC to see if the issue persists.

If it does, the problem is likely hardware-related.

Check for Software Conflicts

Close background apps that might interfere with mouse input (e.g., third-party macro or click software).

Test using the OMEN Gaming Hub or default drivers.

Update or Reinstall Drivers

Visit HP’s OMEN support site and download the latest drivers for your mouse.

Uninstall the current driver first → restart → install the updated driver.

Clean the Mouse Buttons

Over time, dust or debris can cause double-click behavior.

Gently clean around the buttons using compressed air or a soft brush.

Hardware Wear Consideration

After 2–3 years, mechanical switches may wear out, causing unintended double clicks.

If the issue persists after all software checks, the switch may need repair or the mouse replaced.

I hope this helps.
