Dual boot Ubuntu on Omen laptop

HP Recommended
OMEN Laptop 15-ek0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

i'm having trouble create a dual boot Windows/Ubuntu on my Omen laptop. I already shrank the drive in Windows.

I created the USB live image, and booted into it. Last night I installed Ubuntu and it said the install was a success.

But after shutting down and starting it up, there was no Ubuntu installed. I checked disk management and it shows "Unallocated" the space I gave for installing Ubuntu.

I tried reinstalling Ubuntu and it gives errors now.

"Executing 'grub-install /dev/nvme0n1' failed.

This is a fatal error"

If I continue, Ubuntu gives the following message

"Installer crashed
We're sorry, the installer crashed. After you close this window, we'll allow you to file a bug report....etc"

I'm not familiar with UEFI, but from what I'm reading it seems that is the problem.

Is there a how to guide that I can follow?

The Ubuntu forums have a "UEFI installing tips" but it is somewhat general and too many things here and there that I dont fully understand and I fear it may not even apply to this laptop (waste of time).

Anyone successfully setup a dual boot Ubuntu/Windows OMEN laptop?
