You're very welcome.

Since the crucial memory report and the Windows report you ran both indicate that 2 x 32 GB of memory is supported, then that is what it should be.

The 'maxcapacityEx' in that command you ran:  This value comes from the Maximum Capacity member of the Physical Memory Array structure in the SMBIOS information.

You can also run the same command without the 'Ex' and still get a memory value but adding the 'Ex' should rule out any restrictions.

Hi:

Chapter 1 of the service manual indicates the max is 2 x 8 GB of memory.

Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)

You can do this to see how much memory your notebook can actually support:

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.

I'm pretty sure you will find that it supports 2 x 16 GB of DDR4-3200 memory.

Thank you for the reply....I actually did that and it actually says it supports 64gb but I have heard somewhere that they can restrict the full ram slot capacity in bios...I don't know if that's true...and if my laptop supports upto 64gb ram according to cmd if it actually supports at least upto 32 GB... If needed.. I would really appreciate answers...thank you so much
