I purchased a new laptop from Amazon this week and completed the initial setup, but I noticed the warranty status shows as expired. Since the device is brand new, I believe the warranty should still be valid. I'd appreciate assistance in updating or extending it as part of my purchase.

Hi @joyz1996
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
That’s definitely frustrating—setting up a brand-new laptop only to see an expired warranty is not the welcome anyone hopes for. Let’s get this sorted out so your coverage reflects your actual purchase.
📝 You can submit a dispute for review of your warranty.
Look up and review your warranty details
Check your warranty details using the HP Customer Support - Product Warranty Check website.
Find, and then note the serial number for your HP notebook or tablet. For detailed steps, go to Find product and serial numbers for HP PCs, printers, and accessories.
Go to the Product Warranty Check website.
Select the country/region where the computer was purchased, type your serial number, and then click Submit .
Review the warranty status details for your product.
Submit a product warranty status dispute
If you think the product warranty details from the Product Warranty Check website are incorrect, submit a dispute.
From the HP Product Warranty Check results for your product, click Dispute this to display the Warranty validation form.
Note:
If the dispute link is not displayed, the product might be a commercial product or a product available in India, which cannot be disputed online.
Type your contact information, and then select a Dispute reason.
If prompted to upload the proof of purchase, click Choose File, and then double-click the proof of purchase file to upload it.
Note:
Make sure that the file does not exceed 2 MB and is an acceptable digital file format: .bmp, .doc, .docx, .gif, .jpg, .png, .pdf, or .zip.
Click Dispute warranty.
HP reviews the warranty status for your product and contacts you after the review.
