Omen by HP Laptop 15-ce0xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, i have an hp omen, Intel core i7-7700HQ CPU @2.80GHz with a graphics card nvidia gtx1060 with q max design, 8gb RAM. I play call of duty warzone on it and it used to be a great experience with a constant 60 fps until yesterday. It started having fps drops to 20 from time to time but it was still an overall okay experience. Today, i tried playing again and from first game, my fps was never constant it kept on decreasing and increasing all the time and half the time it was between 2 and 17 fps even on very low settings. Even just being in the lobby not doing anything it went down to 1 fps for about 2 minutes .I looked it up online and checked that all my softwares and drivers are up to date. I even went to hp assistant and did all the updates as well as all the possible tests, and it kept on doing the same. I changed all the settings to optimize my gaming experience using online websites and youtube video tutorials but nothing made a difference. Please anyone has any answer to that problem ?

thank you

@Radjul Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you are facing issues with FPS.

There are many ways to increase FPS and system performance:

  • Update the BIOS.

For desktop PCs, go to HP Desktop PCs - Updating the BIOS

For notebook PCs, go to HP Notebook PCs - Updating the BIOS

  • Update the graphics driver.

Go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, enter your PC model, then select the driver for your graphics card.

  • Most games allow you to change the graphics settings. Using a lower graphic quality often improves FPS.

  • Close any applications or programs that are not being used.

  • Turn on Game Mode. Game Mode is a new feature in Windows 10 Creators Update that improves gaming performance by limiting background processes and programs from using system resources while a game is running.
