Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-e0000 (2V9A1AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

My HP Victus laptop is displaying faint reddish tints on the left and right bottom edges of the screen. I have observed that the reddish tints are slightly visible on the left and right bottom edges of the screen when windows/laptop is starting up. When laptop has started up, I don't see any red tints even when dark colours are displayed on screen. What does this possibly indicate and what prevention methods can I take as to not worsen it. I use this laptop for work for long hours.

Hi @Jas89,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your laptop!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

The issue you are experiencing with your HP Victus laptop displaying faint reddish tints on the left and right bottom edges of the screen during Windows startup might indicate a few potential problems:

Display Hardware Issue: The faint reddish tints could be a sign of an upcoming hardware problem with the screen or the graphics card. It is vital to keep an eye on this issue and check if it worsens over time.

Driver Issues: Sometimes, outdated or corrupted graphics drivers can cause display issues. Ensuring that your graphics drivers are up to date might help resolve the problem.

Connection issue: The problem could also be due to the physical connection between the display and the laptop’s motherboard. If the cable connecting them is loose or damaged, it might cause such problems.

Here are a few steps you can take to prevent the issue from worsening:

Update Graphics Drivers: Go to the HP support website and download and install the latest graphics drivers for your HP Victus laptop. Keeping drivers updated can often resolve display issues.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Turn off your laptop.
  • Disconnect the power cord.
  • Remove the battery (if removable).
  • Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  • Reconnect the battery and power cord.
  • Turn on the laptop and check if the issue persists.

Check Display Settings: Ensure that your display settings are correctly configured. Sometimes incorrect resolution settings can cause display problems. Go to Settings > System > Display and check that the resolution is set to the recommended level.

Physical Inspection: If you're comfortable, carefully inspect the connection between the screen and the motherboard. Ensure that the cable is securely connected and there's no visible damage.

Let me know if it helps.
