HP Omen 17 CB0001NA

Bought a laptop second hand and it’s stopped turning on after 4 months of light use. At first if it didn’t turn out I was advised to remove and refit the battery, this did the trick and laptop would work as normal. Now it doesn’t turn on at all so I’ve taken to a local repair store and the fault has been diagnosed as a faulty Buck Converter model no JW5068B. The repair store doesn’t seem to be able to buy a replacement component so been advised to buy a new motherboard which is gonna cost £600 plus labour. Can anyone advise or if HP can help me source just the Buck Converter JW5068B so I can get my laptop fixed with out buying a new motherboard? I’m a novice when it comes to laptops so just trying to get it fixed and since it’s just one component can I just source a replacement?

Kind regards

Sorry, HP won't sell parts of a system board, even it is a CPU. If lucky, you may be able to buy on eBay.  In many cases HP does not stock system boards for many models/products.

Hope this makes sense.

Regards.

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the replacement Parts.

You may order the replacement parts on the HP Parts Store, use the HP Parts Surfer to find the part number and If you've already looked for it and couldn't find it on the HP Parts Store, you may want to get it locally at the online store such as Amazon or eBay, etc...as the part numbers are universal.

Alternatively, I suggest you talk to HP support and discuss your options, follow the below steps to get started:

1) Click on this link

Also, if you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty, if yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from, here's how private messages work: Click here for details.
