On Monday, my laptop quit working with a blinking power button. I finally was able to take the laptop in today. Geek Squad told me I needed a new motherboard. I looked on the HP parts site and they don't even have an option. Would anyone have any suggestions on what to do or where to go?
HP does not sell motherboard replacements unfortunately. You would have to find a used one online.
But I can tell you that it probably wont be worth the money to have Geek Squad replace it. Plus you don't know if that used board will be working and fail shortly after again.
There are a few places that actually work on Motherboards(like Louis Rossmann on YouTube) but again, might or might not be worth the cost and you would probably have to mail it to them. You would have to find out yourself, then decide if its worth just buying a new machine.
