OMEN 17.3 inch Gaming Laptop PC 17-ck2000 IDS Base Model
Product: OMEN 17.3 inch Gaming Laptop PC 17-ck2000 IDS Base Model
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

Hi there! Recently my bird decided to go to town on my laptop's keyboard.

After ordering 2 keyboard replacements (in order to simply remove the keys and match it with my laptop's keyboard hinges on the missing keys), they did not match even if they both were for the right model,

The tricky thing is the keyboard I have on my laptop has springs on it and do not match with any known hinge i have seen before.

Id appreciate if anyone could share any information on:
How to successfully search for the right keyboard model my laptop has.
How to find a replacement supplier for those types of keys.
(also im unable to send messages so I don't know how to add more information to the post such as my serial number or product number without putting myself at risk)

Thanks!

Hi:

As far as I can tell, the keyboard has to be ordered as a part of the top cover.

Enter your notebook's product number in the search window at the link below, and it should provide the part number for the top cover/keyboard you need.

Here is a parts list I pulled at random for one of the models in the series sold in the United States, and it shows the part I am referring to.

HP PartSurfer

N16778-001
TOPCVR H55 WITHKB SDB BL PERKEY US

If you can get into Windows, you can find your notebook's product number by clicking on the search icon on your Windows taskbar.

Type: System Information

The System information app should show up.

Run the app and the product number of your PC will be found on the System SKU line about 1/4 of the way down on the report.

Below is the link to the service manual:

This is for the original 17-ck0xxx model series and is the only one available.

Hi there! Thank you!

Thanks to your part recomendation I was able to find a similar post (https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Omen-17-ck1020nr-Replacement-K...) the tricky thing is receiving a confirmation this is the right keyboard and that it is compatible with my laptop (ive ordered 3 already with the sellers saying it is the same, only to buy it and it not being compatible with these keys.

Do you have any recomendation on how to locate the right keyboard? Yes it is compatible with my laptop if i replace my entire keyboard, but what Im trying to do is just buy a compatible laptop keyboard in order to replace my missing keys.

You're very welcome.

Unfortunately, I can only provide the info I already have.

The keyboard is part of the top cover assembly.
