OMEN 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop PC 15-ek1000 (2B1K3AV)

I am experiencing persistent GPU-related failures on my HP OMEN laptop (Model: 15-ek1xxx, RTX 3070). During GPU-intensive workloads such as Cinebench or modern games, the system crashes within a few minutes, even with power and performance settings heavily reduced.

I have thoroughly tested the system and observed:

  • Frequent crashes with Event ID 153 (nvlddmkm.sys)

  • HWInfo logs show GPU power spiking (~110W) followed by a sudden voltage drop to 0V and complete GPU shutdown

  • Temperatures remain safe (~73 °C) at the time of failure

  • Cinebench crashes even after core/memory underclocking and power limit reduction

These symptoms suggest a failure in the GPU VRM or motherboard power delivery system. The issue has been ongoing for over a year.

I would like to request:

  1. A hardware inspection at a service center

  2. A clear estimate of repair cost, including possible motherboard or GPU component replacement

Please confirm if any service options are available for my device and whether an out-of-warranty repair can be arranged.

Device Info:

  • Model: HP OMEN 15-ek1xxx

  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 (Laptop)

  • Serial Number: 5CD1139XP3

  • Issue Duration: Over 1 year

I can provide logs and test results if required.

Your HP OMEN 15-ek1xxx (RTX 3070) is experiencing GPU failures (Event ID 153, power spikes, sudden voltage drops) indicating a likely VRM or motherboard power delivery issue, ongoing for over a year. You need to contact HP Support directly with your serial number (5CD1139XP3) to request an out-of-warranty hardware inspection and a clear repair cost estimate, specifically for potential motherboard or GPU component replacement. Be prepared to provide your detailed logs and test results.
