What is the full model or product number of your laptop?
The product number is located in the HP Support Assistant.
Go to the Start menu and scroll to H>HP Help and Support>HP Support Assistant.
Open the program and click on your computer in the list.
The Product Number will be listed either on the top or bottom of the window.

OK thanks. These are your system specs... https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-15-bs100-laptop-pc/16851388/model/21138193/document/c0593339...
So what game are you referring to? Is it lagging on the one game only?
What Graphics Driver is installed?
If you go into the AMD Radeon Graphics Settings under Switchable Graphics, you should be able to set that specific game to use High Perfomance Mode. Is it running at high performance?

So its been this way from the beginning?
How long ago did you purchase the laptop?
1. Sometimes if a new laptop is running poorly like this, its better to simply reinstall Windows by doing a factory reset using . F11.
2. If you update the HP graphic drivers by using the ones from AMD or Nvidia directly, instead of the HP download, you need to do a clean install with Display Driver Uninstaller first.
https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
3. Other things could be if you installed a third party Anti Virus suite, its firewall could be causing issues.
4. Also you might have to look in the Windows Task Manager to see if there is a service running while gaming that's taking up CPU resources.
5. You can run the UEFI Diagnostics from F2 at startup and run the Extensive Tests for all the hardware to see if something is physically failing.
If you are still under warranty, you can also contact HP Support (not the forum) for direct help...
