OMEN by HP Transcend 16 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-u0000 (7C0V5AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I  bought this Omen transcend on nov 2023, after a year of usage, some games starting to freeze when I play the game. The worst thing is my laptop freeze on games that are low graphic like R.E.P.O or any "cartoon" like graphics kind of game. I dont what the issue is, I tried updated my windows, updated my nvidia drives, set my games on low settings and all of that doesn't work. The fans starting to make weird noise as well even though I cleaned them. I really don't know why this laptop is being like this even though this laptop is only after a year of use and despite the price being almost $2000 dollars.....

@benson0615, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Omen transcend!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

1. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

Let’s rule out any hardware issues first:

  • Turn off your laptop.
  • Power it on and immediately tap the ESC key repeatedly.
  • From the Startup Menu, press F2 to enter System Diagnostics.
  • Run Extensive System Test – especially the Thermal, Fan, and Storage tests.

2. Update BIOS & OMEN Gaming Hub

  • Go to HP Support → Search for your model.
  • Download and install the latest BIOS and firmware updates.
  • Make sure OMEN Gaming Hub is updated too. You can use it to monitor CPU/GPU temps, fan speed, and usage.

3. Clean Boot Test

To rule out 3rd party apps:

  • Press Win + R, type msconfig.
  • Go to Services → Check Hide all Microsoft services → Click Disable all.
  • Go to Startup tabOpen Task Manager → Disable all startup apps.
  • Reboot and test your game.

If the fans are making irregular sounds even after cleaning:

  • It could be dust under the blade or a worn-out bearing.
  • Some OMEN fans also adjust RPM abruptly based on game profiles, can sound aggressive.

Please run the Fan Test from HP Diagnostics and let us know if it flags anything.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
