Gaming laptop under warranty now 3 months at HP facility

HP Recommended
HP Pavilion Gaming

My son's HP gaming laptop screen wasn't turning on, so with factory warranty, we took it to an authorized drop off retailer (UbreakIfix). It's been 3 months because according to HP, they are waiting for a part, uhm, from HP.  Meanwhile, my son has gone 3 months without his computer.  According to UbreakIfix, the 'commit date' was yesterday but no single notification from HP. I guess their warranties mean pretty much nothing. Nothing is resolved for this $900 dollar computer.
