Hi i have a Gaming pavilion 15-cx0056wm  i owned this laptop since 2018 never have a problem with it. Currently i tried to upgrade the memory ram the computer stock have 8g of ram and i bought another memory of 8gb with the specifications that the computer required. When i istalled the memory that i have bought the computer don't boot up and the cap lock flash. After that i bought another memory because i think it was a faulty memory ram but the other one didn't work either. I put photos of the memory's that i bought and istalled. I want to know what i am doing wrong or maybe i bought the wrong memory or i am missing a step. Any help would be greatly appreciate.

Hi @Brian13b

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I checked the details and I see that your system has 8 GB DDR4-2666 SDRAM (1 x 8 GB) of memory.

Could you please try removing the new RAM and plugging in the Old one to check if the issue persists?

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Thank you for your reply,  Yes  already did that and with the old ram every thing work fine. The issue is when i tried the two ram stick that i have bought.

Your system supports only one 8GB RAM. May I know how are you trying to connect the other one at the same time?

Let me know.

Ok but where said that can be upgradable and why have 2 ram slots?

Thanks for your response.

I just checked internally and found that your system has 16GB RAM with 2 slots. So it should work. Here is a link from where I found it: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05985643.pdf

Refer to page number 1.

Could you try DIMM dance and put the old RAM in the second slot and the new one in the first and check if the issue persists.

Let me know.

Yes already i tried swapping the ram in both places and only boot whit the oem ram, i think maybe is the aftermarket ram i bought the two ones that show in the photos. I was thinking buying a crucial ram but i don't want to expend more money and don't work either.

That is the last option here. Try connecting another RAM and check if the issue persists.
