Hi,
Before jumping to conlcusions here, I am going to provide you with my lap top model.
I would like to know what the maximum RAM is that I can install on the mainboard?
How many RAM slots does my Lap top have?
If your answer is that my Computer can only have 8GB of RAM then I have a follow up question.
Will a BIOS update allow me to "unlock" a higher RAM capacity so I can install 16 or 32 GB?

I don´t mind voiding my warranty.
Good day

Good evening,
It supports 16GB of RAM max and it has 2 slots of RAM. No such thing called "unlock".
Regards.

I will add to what was officially stated...
Yes HP has tested the Omen to run guaranteed at 16GB of ram.
But unofficially speaking, many enthusiasts have reported successfully running 32 GB of ram (2x16) on those systems here in the HP forum. The 6th gen i7 and chipset will definitively support it.
I will concur what Banhien said about no unlocks available for an HP bios, unfortunately.

I see that the cap is 16 GB officially and 32 GB unofficially by 2 reports. Have you considered going with an SSD instead? You can install an M2 version on some laptops (I don't know if your laptop is compatible with one or not so check this before buying one.) Or you can put in a hard drive caddy to run storage, while the SSD is used for the OS and apps/programs.
I am running 16 GB ram in my HP 15-r210dx with a 240 GB SSD and 1 TB hybrid drive, and it has an i5 processor, and this thing SCREAMS now.
I don't recommend a BIOS update unless you know with absolute certainty that it is proven trouble free, and look on tech support FIRST to see how many are asking about their bios problems if they are getting the black screen of death, then decide if it's worth the risk.
I learned this the hard way and turned this thing into a paperweight for nearly 24 hours before I finally got the bios to repair itself. Never again for me. I will leave the bios alone until the machine completely dies first.
Hope this helps.
