HP Pavilion 15-cx0006nm
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I just bought HP Pavilion 15-cx0006nm with Intel® Core™ i5-8300H and NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1050 Ti.
There is no way to install graphic properly. I can install NVIDIA graphic card but my graphic is working on Microsoft Basic Display Adapter and GTX 1050 Ti. I dont know is there switchable graphic but i cant remove Microsoft Basic Display Adapter driver. I tried to install Intel Display Drivers (https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-gaming-15-cx0000-laptop-pc/20284020/mod...) but it says This installation package is not supported by this processor type.
Also I was trying to download other drivers from intel site for my Intel i5 8300H but every time I try to install it says This installation package is not supported by this processor type.
Can anyone help me to make this graphic work?

Hi:

Yes, your notebook has the nVidia/Intel switchable graphics, so the graphics won't work correctly until you can get the Intel UHD graphics driver installed.

If you are running W10 v1809, Is this the one you tried?

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp92501-93000/sp92860.exe

If yes to both, and the driver didn't install, see if this works...

Go to the device manager.  Click on the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter needing the driver.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update driver.

Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and then at the bottom of that window, select the Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.

Click on Have Disk and browse to C:\SWSetup\sp92860>Graphics>ki128916 (setup information file), click Next and see if the driver installs that way.

If not, please post the hardware ID for the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter so I can see if I can find the right driver for it.

Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID for a device...

https://www.howtogeek.com/193798/how-to-find-drivers-for-unknown-devices-in-the-device-manager/

For example:  These are the Intel HD graphics adapter's hardware ID's supported by the above graphics driver...

You're very welcome.

You are browsing to the wrong place.

In your screenshot you have to browse to the Graphics folder (first one listed in your screenshot), and then to the ki128916 file.

It has the hardware ID for your graphics adapter, so it should work.

I see that you found a driver, so you can keep that one or try my approach.
