I have a older OMEN gaming laptop that has a 965m GPU. It used to work perfectly getting me around 60 fps on newer games such as fortnite with 1080p and high graphics. However, it has recently been acting up. Sometimes I'll be able to get over 60fps on high settings, and then other times I can't go above 18 in game. This used to happen every once and a while, but know it happens 80% of the time. I've updated all of my drivers, and I've factory reset my computer but it still won't work. When I go to my task manager it says that my GPU is maxed out, but when I'm getting decent framerates only 80% of it's being used. I don't know if I have something on my computer that's slowing it down because I've downloaded hacks for minecraft once lol. I think it might have soemthing to do with the hardware though because it's being doing this since I first got my laptop. If you could help that would mean alot to me!

90 is pretty high. It can start throttling once it gets high enough.
Be sure your heat fins are not blocked with dust.
You can also look into the UEFI Diagnostics tools and run hardware tests.
If you have installed hacks, then I cant help with that.
A reinstall of the OS is all I can offer.

OK, its model 17t-w000 CTO which is a Configured to Order setup. I cant look up the specs for that.
I assume you are gaming with the power cord pluggd in, correct?
What is the wattage rating on your AC Power Adapter? 120 or 150?

Have you also recently upgraded to the 1803 update? If so, its been the cause of several things gone awry.
When you game and the FPS drops, have you opened the Task Manager to see what is taking up CPU resources?
Ctrl/Alt/Del to bring it up.
Click on the CPU column to make the percetage show highest to lowest.
