OMEN 15-ax001la
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I have an HP Omen model OMEN by HP Laptop PC - 15-ax001la, and the HDMI port is not working properly. With some hdmi cables it works but with others it doesn't, and later with the cables that had worked it doesn't work.
I have installed and uninstalled drivers, used the recovery mode, cleaned the hardware (done by a technician) and the problem continues.
Sometimes it works in others it doesn't.

The strange thing is that the system sometimes recognizes it (emits the characteristic sound) but the video does not come to the cable and sometimes it does not recognize it at all.

Could someone help me or does anyone have a similar problem?

PS: Normally this would not bother me, but I work teaching so being able to project for me is very important.

Not sure I can solve your problem. Was it working previously and only just now began to fail?

You have tried various cables, reinstalled drivers, cleaned the hardware and even reinstalled Windows back to factory settings with the HP Recovery system.

Considering all that, one would have to assume you have a physical hardware problem. There could be a tiny flaw in the port, soldering joint or even something on the motherboard itself.

All I can offer is a work around since I assume you are out of warranty.

A USB 3 to HDMI converter. This will allow video from the USB 3 port to connect to your HDMI monitor/projector.  I assume you're in Spain or somewhere in that region. If so, I'm not familiar with what is available there, but this is what I would look for if in the USA...

Thank you for your answer, and yes, I think it is a hardware problem. I just wanted to avoid believing that it was because they told me that the arrangement could be very risky. I will use if or if the usb-hdmi connector.
Thank you.
regards
