OMEN by HP Laptop 15-dc0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello guys i really need help, I try to find the solution everywhere but I can't find it, my pc just gets too hot when it's plugged in, and if I play some games for like 10 minutes it starts throttling, but when I say too hot it's like burning my legs if I put the laptop on them, I try undervolt, changing the energy to 99%, undervolt turbo boost, put some fresh air directly, but it's insane, a pc like that, that I pay almost 2000 dollars to have something trustable, fast and with decent temperature, and I feel like I wasting my money, I don't know anymore what to do. 😞Specs HP.jpg

Try restoring the BIOS to default and check if it helps.

1.    Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
2.    Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
3.    On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
4.    Press F10 to Save and Exit.
5.    Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
6.    Follow the prompts to restart your computer.

Normally if your gaming or using any high-end application the PC will raise the temperature and if the vents are restricted that will increase the heat more. So if this PC hasn't had the vents cleaned out for some time this could result in thermal overload and causing your PC to shut down and worse case damage the system to point it no longer works.

You can try updating the BIOS and Thermal framework driver using the HP support assistant.

Refer to this article to know more information about using the HP support assistant. Click Here

Try performing the following troubleshooting steps:

1 - Right-click on any open space on your computer's taskbar.

2 -Select "Task Manager" and press "Enter."

3 -Select "View" from the Taskbar Manager's pull-down menu. If more than one computer is connected to your network, notice the graphs for all CPUs. Select "One Graph Per CPU." This will help determine which computers are using more processing time.

4 -Go to the "Applications" tab. Because this tab shows open programs in real-time, you will be able to see exactly when a program has been opened and closed at the time that it occurs. Identify and close selected programs by highlighting each one separately and clicking on "End Task" to free up the processing time. (Important: Make sure all work is saved prior to closing any programs.)

5 -Go to the "Processes" tab and view them, but do not delete any of them unless absolutely necessary. All of the hidden system processes and programs are listed here. (Note: See Warnings section.)

6 -Set your computer's cooling fan to "Auto." Next, slide the Processing Speed scale to "3-4." Slide the Cooling Method scale to the middle of the range. These settings will slow down the CPU when needed

Also, Hit Win Key + R
Type in “Regedit” and then hit Enter.
Go to ‘HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management’
Find ‘ClearPageFileAtShutDown’ and change its value to 1
Restart the computer

Lastly, try running a system diagnostics test on your PC and check if the hardware components on your PC are functioning correctly.

I appreciate your help, but this really should be a fabrication problem, I made everything, disable turbo, undervolting cpu ,cleaning fans update bios, make bios default, there is nothing that can solve this, after like 5 to 10 minutes playing cs go, FIFA 20, it starts throttling cause temperature, one laptop with that cost, and with that specs can't do that, I think I need to change the pc, I got 8 days left of guarantee I am gonna try to replace the laptop, I am very sad because I think this was the best laptop to buy, it's expensive but with i7 8750h and gtx1060 I expected to play with no issues...

The thing here it's that if I am using the laptop just on battery, it's perfect, low temps and nice performance, but when I plug the charger this just start to increase the temperatures, the GPU goes high and higher, and if I take charger off this starts to decrease temp, what can i do? How can I get the same results with the charger on? Without high temps?
