Thank you for your confirmation. Looks like this is a systemic manufacturer issues from HP. Do let me know if you receive any response from them, thanks.

Try to install the first version of bios. It helped me with my throttling issue. Actually F.05 Rev.A bios.

I am having the same exact issue. I got my OMEN 17 in February and I've already had it sent in once and I'm still having the issue even though I was told it was fixed. Does your display randomly put gray lines up and down the screen too?

Hi,.

Dame issue here. I have omen with GTX 960 and Intel video cards, also in my office it doesn't work properly with projectors... In my case it freezes randomly despite of using as default Nvidia or Intel. My trick is to close and open the screen.... So HP any fix? If not you should replace the device to every consumer affected by this. It's unacceptable. My omen is from December 2016. I7, 16gb ram and gtx960+Intel built in.

No im afraid these 2 posts above me are likely to be describing another problem independent of this. The problem, in my case and some others, is a 5-10second freeze, which is immediately resolved by unplugging power supply. I suspect this is an issue of optimus switching between int. and dedicated graphics. To this day I have still found absolutely no solution whatsoever

I have also a guarantee extension paid for 2 years, as per I use laptop for work. So I will raise a ticket and force my laptop substitution, because with this issues you never now if it can go worse or what.

I also had the exact same problem for a long time, but I recently found the solution (for me anyway).

I have a SSD installed (SanDisk SD6PP4M-256G-1006) and when I updated the firmware the freezing issue disappered.

Did this:

I went to https://support.hp.com/drivers and identified my computer.

Looked though the list of drivers and found an update for my SSD:s firmware.

After I installed this, my freezing issues were gone.
