HP Omen 15 2015 Model
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I have an HP Omen 15 laptop 2015 model and the motherboard of this laptop was fried due to spillage. I purchased a used motherboard but couldn't find the Model number or the name even the system is in manufacture unlock mode and important data is missing from the main board.

I sold the original SSD which came with my laptop long time back and didn't kept SSD's model details but I purchased a new Crucial P1 NVMe M.2 SSD for the used mother and this SSD is not recognized or shown in the used motherboard's BIOS.

I wanted to know exactly which SSD I can use for this specific motherboard as I don't want to waste my time and cash on testing different compatible SSD's.Please note that the motherboard has a sticker with reference to HP part number 812219-501 and below specs as per system information

Intel Core i7 4720HQ at 2.1 GHz

16 GB DDR3 at 1600 MHz

Nvidia Geforce GTX 960M 4GB GDDR5

Part # does not ring any bell

You are saying your machine has Intel Core i7 4720HQ at 2.1 GHz, probably it supports M.2 SATA-3, not M.2 NVMe. Normally an HP machine with system board has Intel Gen 4, 5 and 6 processor does not have M.2 NVMe slot, only M.2 SATA slot.

But I need to know the model/product of your machine to confirm. Please use the following way to find out the model/product of your machine

Please do NOT post its Serial number (s/n).

Regards.
