15-dc1079wm
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello to everyone,

So I've just bought an HP Omen 15-dc1079wm, and it has been running flawlessly under normal (non-gaming) conditions. Therefore, I tried it out with Monster Hunter: World, and it got EXTREMELY HOT. Saw that the temperature on the GPU was normal around 50°C, but the CPU was on 90°C+. This was very concerning!

I've updated my BIOS and done all the pending windows updates as per this other post and others I saw on the community, but with no luck:

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Gaming-Notebooks/my-laptop-overheats-during-playing-games-cpu-temperat...

I also saw some instructions to check if there was some hardware problem using the Diagnostic tool from HP within windows and/or the UEFI System Diagnostics tool shown on this link:

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Gaming-Notebooks/HP-Omen-gets-really-hot/td-p/7318178

The laptop passed all the tests within the diagnostic tool, but when I tried the extensive test, I had to stop the test halfway through at around 56% as it was just insanely hot. I couldn't touch the chassis for more then 5 seconds on the space above the keyboard (between the screen and the keyboard) it was just too hot.

It is brand new and it is having some serious thermal problems when being used for gaming, I mean it is it's sole purpose... Can someone please help me on this?

Additional Info:

Windows 10 Home x64: 10.0.18363 (Build 18363)

Processor: Intel Core i7 9750H

BIOS Version: AMI F.12, 6/10/2019

Baseboard version: 21.12

BIOS Mode: UEFI
