Hi,
I have just ordered an HP Omen 15-dc0024nf, it doesn't come with an SSD. To compensate, I have purchased an SSD SATA M.2 Type 2280.
I have just realized that the 15-dc0024nf come with the NVMe M.2 SSD interface by default. Will the motherboard support an SSD SATA M.2 Type 2280 ? Document wise, I haven't seen any concluding information, however, previoust posts on this forum have mentioned that some Omen computers do support the two types even though it isn't documented.
Could anyone confirm / have any insights ?
Kindest Regards.

Since that series is still very new, we havent had very many users report issues with upgrades yet.
All I have to go by is the HP Maintenance Manual which specifically states that it can use both sata and NVMe m.2 drives.

So you should be fine according to that.

2280 tells you the lenght of the card, which is 80mm. It may support M.2 SATA SSD but why you have to use SATA - NVMe drive are more expensive but you know it will work.

Hi,
I haven't noticed there were different kinds of M.2 SSD's out there and proceeded to the purchase of the SSD SATA M.2 Type 2280, I'm currently awaiting for the shipment.
Waiting for someone to confirm me the fact that my 5-dc0024nf will succefully detect the drive or not.
Cordially.

Hi,
I'll post this as the accepted answer. I find the little check marks a bit confusing, as they aren't right next to the imidate side of the data entry. However, I believe you are right; I will proceed and place the drive.
I will issue an update by the end of the week.
Best Regards.
