HP Omen 15-dc1040nr
Microsoft Windows 11

Recently i have updated my bios on HP Omen 15-dc1040nr laptop, it's now f.28, undervolting no longer work, the laptop gets very hot now, and reaches unsafe temperatures, i want to rollback to the older version, please help me if you have f.24 or f.26 bios file, because i can't find it anywhere and hp removed them from their site.

Also i want to ask if it is safe to rollback bios on my laptop?

Thanks.

There is a newer BIOS update available (F.29).

According to the release notes for F.29 and F.28, which can be found by clicking on the Revision History link, I do not believe you can go back to an earlier version.

Version:
F.28 Rev.A
Fixed in this release: - Improves security of the UEFI code. NOTE: HP strongly recommends transitioning promptly to this updated BIOS version which supersedes all previous releases.

You can try going back to F.26 or F.24, but I doubt you will be able to.

They are both available under the Revision History section.

Will updating my bios to f.29 make undervolting possible again?

Not according to the release notes...

Sorry to keep bothering you with questions, is there anyway to bring back the undervolting capabilities to my laptop? I need to fix the overheating issue like i did before with throttlestop, which doesn't work anymore.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't have any idea how to recover that feature.

You do have the option in the Windows Control panel>Power options>advanced settings>processor power management to change the maximum processor state from 100% to 99% or 98% and that should reduce the temperature.

There is also this app (I don't know if it is supported for your PC), that has settings to change the cooling profile.

It wasn't the answer that i hoped for, but it seems like the only logical answer, thank you for taking the time to reply.
