OMEN Laptop - 15-ek0069nf
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello, yesterday my laptop was working just fine, but was overheating because it is very hot here in france right now. So even if I am not doing anything my laptop was over heating. So I decided to open my laptop to simply remove the dust, a simple procces that I'm used to do. Everything went fine, but when I started the computer again after that it did not want to boot. It just stays at a black screen and the cap lock flash led flashes 5 long and 3 shorts.

Hello ! Thanks for the indications.

Right now the only thing I haven't tried is to reflash the bios chip. I don't really wanna be charged for that as I have everything I need, SOIC8 clip, raspberry pi etc..

Would you have some informations about that that could help me, if you don't mind ? Thank you so much for the help !

Hello @Aldoria

There are bios chips that can be reflashed without desoldering. In some cases it is only possible to do the reflash when voltage is applied to a bios pin.

Once again, it is not clear if it is only the bios chip causing the error, I wrote that a short circuit test must be done. If you are beginner think again if you really want to do this.
