Omen 15 Laptop (15-ek0003na)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I have an HP Omen 15 Laptop model number 15-ek0003na which can as standard with 16GB RAM (2 x 8GB 3200MHz) which run at 2933MHz, which I think is the maximum/default for the Intel i7-10750H CPU.

I'm looking to upgrade to 32GB RAM (2 x 16GB) but am confused which to buy.  I have seen for example, the Corsair Vengeance 3000MHz modules but when you look in the detailed spec it seems to suggest they will run by default t 2133MHz but will run up to 3000MHz.  Could I buy this RAM and would it run by default at 2933MHz in my Omen laptop?  I don't think you can enter the BOIS to change RAM speeds up to 2933MHz if it did run at 2133MHz.

Can anyone help or suggest which RAM I should purchase in order to guarantee it will run at 2933MHz when installed?

Thank you for your help (in advance)

Steve

Its specs

It has   16 GB DDR4-2933 SDRAM (2 x 8 GB) - both slots are occupied now. You can install 3200MHz RAM but it will run at 2933MHz. It supports up to 64GB (2 x 32GB).

HP uses few different RAM suppliers. You can use a tools called CPU-Z to find out what is its current RAM and buy the same with larger capacity or try the following compatible RAM:

Thank you for the reply.

Will the Crucial Ballistix RAM in your link run at 2933MHz?

I've read reviews that state it actually runs at 2666MHz unless you have access to the XMP profile BIOS to overclock it.  I don't think my HP Omen will let me do this.

It should. But as I mentioned above, you can use CPU-Z (link above) to see what it is now and buy same RAM (larger capacity).
