Product Name (mobile site will not let me use the pull down menu or check);

HP Omen 16.1” Gaming Laptop (7H1Z1UA#ABA)

Problem Description:

Hi HP team,

My HP Omen 16 (Model 7H1Z1UA#ABA, 2023) will not power on at all — no lights, no fans, no response when plugged in.

Before it failed completely, it had the screen flicker issue that’s widely reported on 2023 Omen models. This problem is caused by the IR thermal sensor board (part numbers N42554 / N44755-001 / DA0G3KSS4D0), which can short the 3.3 V rail and prevent the system from starting.

This issue began shortly after warranty expiration, and a local technician confirmed the same defective board behavior that many owners have experienced.

I’m requesting HP’s review for a goodwill / out-of-warranty repair exception, as this appears to be a design fault rather than user damage.

I have my Best Buy receipt (Feb 5 2024) ready to share. Please advise how to proceed or connect me with the appropriate escalation team.

Thank you,

Hi HP team — following up here with a quick recap for visibility.

📎 Have Attached: Best Buy receipt (Feb 5 2024, North Attleboro MA)

🖥️ Model: HP OMEN 16 (7H1Z1UA#ABA, 2023)

🔌 Serial: [edited]

💡 Issue: Known IR thermal sensor board defect → screen flicker → complete power failure

🧾 Technician note: Confirmed sensor board short on 3.3 V rail; consistent with widespread reports

Requesting escalation for goodwill / out-of-warranty repair due to design-related component failure.

I can provide additional photos or videos on request. I can give you my e-mail if necessary,  or please DM, and/or provide me with a contact e-mail.

Thanks again for taking a look — hoping to get the case into review soon!
