I have an Omen 16-c0021nq. 3 weeks ago it suddenly turn off and would not turn back on. I initially thought it was due to my Ethernet cable since I have disconected it right before it happened. I left it a local service center. They said everything was fine, but it appers to be a motherboard issue. It did start working normally after performing multiple hard resets. After that, it would not boot up without the AC adapter and the battery would be shown as empty on the lock screen but 100% after unlocking the laptop. Today, it happened again, after I pulled out my mouse's USB out of it from the SAME side where the Ethernet cable is (the port "under" it). It does not turn on and after taking out and switching the RAM multiple times, performing a dozen of resets with and without the internal battery plugged in, it still does not turn on. Without the AC it blinks 3 short times, with the power plugged in it just lights the Red LED as if its charging. Please help as I've pretty much tried every solution out there.

Hi @Alex11_11,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I am sorry to hear that your HP Omen 16-c0021nq is not turning on and is showing an LED indicator with 3 short blinks, I would request you to please follow the steps:

Power Reset Your Laptop:

  • Disconnect the power adapter.
  • Remove the battery if it's detachable.
  • Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to perform a power reset.

Check the Power Adapter:

  • Ensure that the power adapter is connected properly and is not damaged.
  • Check if the power outlet is working by connecting another device or using a different outlet.

Inspect the Power Port and Connections:

  • Inspect the power port on your laptop for any visible damage or debris.
  • Make sure the power cable is securely connected to your laptop and the adapter.

Battery Check:

  • If your laptop has a removable battery, try turning on the laptop with only the AC adapter connected.
  • If the battery is not removable, ensure it is charged adequately. If the LED indicator blinks persistently, it might indicate a battery or charging issue.

Hardware Diagnostics:

  • Run diagnostics if your laptop has a built-in option to identify issues.
  • However, if it won't start at all, this step may not be applicable.

Take care and have an amazing day!
