I recently got a HP Omen 17-CK1020NR. I did a fresh install of windows 11 to ensure there would be no issues.
I installed all the latest drivers.
I have one of the best cooling pads you can get.
Even on a fresh install of windows 11 I'm noticing significant problems with the laptop.

Problem # 1: Random CPU Spikes
After booting up for the first time on my fresh win11 install, I could hear my laptop's fan rev up to maximum.
After installing MSI Afterburner as monitoring software to figure out what the heck is going on, I noticed the CPU frequently spikes to 100% usage for no apparent reason. Task manager reveals no program using up the CPU to that degree
This is pretty ridiculous for a new laptop with a clean install of windows. Surely there must be some sort of weird driver issue going on here?
I've been using it for a month now hoping things would get better, but it still just randomly revs up to max power

Problem # 2: Extremely limited BIOS
When I experienced the CPU issues, I expected to be able to go into BIOS and turn off overclocking or tweak whatever the heck was going wrong. There's barely any options to do anything at all in the BIOS. Why? Do I have to install a custom bios to adjust things like clock speed and other boot settings you can do on any other standard desktop motherboard? This is a "gaming laptop", why is customization so sparse

I like the power of the GPU on this thing, but I'm really regretting my purchase with random cpu issues and such a sparse bios that I can't even fix my own problems

Should also mention that after experiencing issues and seeing the sparse bios options, I tried updating (or rather reflashing) the bios with the most current version. The operation was successful, but it changed absolutely nothing. Still have CPU issues, and still have a bios that could be fully entrusted to a 3 year old (that is to say, not very useful at all) 🙄
