I have an Omen Gaming Laptop only 2 years old and the screen went blank - Purchased the correct one (dont worry its the right HZ etc as was more expensive and fits perfectly)
But this is blank as well after fitting ?
The Laptop is fine as i can run it off HDMI to the tv and works ok
Anyone suggest my next step
Thank you

Hi @fonetonez,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're experiencing a blank screen on your HP Omen 17-ck2002na laptop, there could be several potential causes for this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to try and resolve it.
- Check the Power: Ensure that the laptop is receiving power. Check if the battery is charged and the power adapter is properly connected. Try plugging the laptop into a different power source or using a different power adapter if available.
- External Display: Connect your laptop to an external monitor or TV using the appropriate cable (HDMI, DisplayPort, etc.). If the external monitor displays an image while the laptop screen remains blank, it could be a problem with the laptop's built-in display.
- Brightness Settings: Sometimes, the screen brightness may be set to the lowest level, making it appear as if the screen is blank. Try increasing the brightness by using the keyboard shortcuts (usually Fn + F3 or F4).
- Hard Reset: Disconnect the laptop from the power source, remove the battery (if possible), and then press and hold the power button for about 15-20 seconds. This can help discharge any residual power and reset the hardware.
- BIOS Reset: If the laptop screen is still blank, you can try resetting the BIOS settings to default. To do this, consult your laptop's manual for instructions on how to access the BIOS/UEFI setup, and look for an option to reset settings to default or load optimized defaults.
- Memory and Storage Checks: Faulty RAM or storage drives can sometimes cause a blank screen issue. Try reseating the RAM modules and checking if the laptop boots. If you have spare RAM, you can also try replacing it to see if that resolves the issue.
- Graphics Driver: Outdated or corrupted graphics drivers can sometimes cause display problems. If you can access the laptop through an external monitor, update the graphics drivers to the latest version from HP's official website.
- Safe Mode: Try booting the laptop in Safe Mode by pressing the F8 key repeatedly during startup (or as per your laptop's specific key for Safe Mode). If it boots in Safe Mode, it may be a software or driver issue.
- System Restore: If you suspect a recent software or driver update caused the issue, you can try performing a System Restore to revert your system to a previous state where it was working correctly.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
