I apologize as well as sympathize, especially since I can't offer the slightest help for your immediate dilemma, but I wanted to mention it's for this reason exactly that I refuse to own a laptop as my main system. As a backup for travel or whatever? Sure... never will I have one as my go-to computer. 

Again, I know this doesn't help right now, but I would urge you and highly suggest building your own desktop in any future computer systems you may consider!

with screen hz set to 60 instead of 300, keyboard light off, and battery saver turned on normal mode, windows 11 the battery life has been improved. it lasts 4-5 hr, which is okay for my office work (ofc without gaming).
