HP Omen 15 dh1020tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This laptop heats up so easily even though fan speed is Max all the time, and I can only survive playing 1 match of CS GO and it all go blank. Please help , I just bought this laptop and had a very unsettling experience for this new gaming laptop. Even my older MSI GTX1050 laptop is working just fine. It is fast in speed but also fast in freezing and overheating.

@HahaPunk

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

Testing for hardware failures

  • Press the Power button to turn on the computer and immediately press the F2 key repeatedly, about once every second, until you see HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI.
  • From the UEFI main menu, click System Tests, then click Quick Test.
  • Click Run once.
  • While the test is running, the time remaining and test result for each component are shown on the screen. The test can take up to 15 minutes.
  • If no system component failed, please go back to main menu and Exit from the screen
  • If a component fails a test, write down the information so you have it available when you contact HP Customer Support. The information is also available in Test Logs on the main menu.

And, also refer to the article: Reducing Heat Inside the Computer to Prevent Overheating

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Everything has passed the test and nothing uncommon so far , however the CPU heats up so easily and tends to shut down during my CS Go game as always. It is pretty unpleasant for me

Thank you for posting back.

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. I would suggest performing system factory reset will put the computer back to the original factory settings in this way all corrupted and outdated software will be removed.

While doing the recovery there is an option to back up your personal files. If you have not previously done one now is a good time.

Restoring Files that were Backed Up Using HP Recovery Manager (Windows) You can also contact HP support for assistance. They can remotely access your system to help alleviate difficulties: www.hp.com/contacthp/

The HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. You can use the downloaded recovery image file in order to install the Windows operating system.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
