Good Morning,

i recently bought a HP Omen Max 16 with RTX 5080 and an Oled Screen.

I am absolutely happy with this Machine.

Very decent Built Quality and satisfying Power.

I have little concerns about the built in OLED Screen which looks very beautiful, but i couldn't find any Burn in Prevention.

Neither in the HP Omen App nor in the HP Display Center.

The HP Display Center doesn't even Show my Screen, because its not an external one.

Does anyone have valid information ,that this Screen has built in functions to prevent of OLED Burn in ?

Thank you

Best Regards

Hi @HerrBrummbär,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for sharing your experience with the HP OMEN Max 16 with RTX 5080 and OLED screen. It’s truly heartwarming to hear how much you’re enjoying the machine’s powerful performance and premium build quality. That sense of satisfaction when the keys respond just right, the display glows with cinematic brilliance, and the fans whisper quietly in the background, it's a feeling every tech lover cherishes.

Now, about your concern regarding OLED burn-in prevention, you’re absolutely right to be cautious. OLED screens are stunning, but they do require thoughtful care to maintain their vibrant beauty over time.

Built-in Features & Best Practices:

  1. Pixel Shift & Refresh: Many OLED panels, including those used in HP devices, use subtle pixel shifting and refresh techniques to prevent static image retention. These typically run in the background and may not be user-configurable.
  2. Automatic Brightness Adjustment: Your laptop likely adjusts brightness dynamically based on ambient light and usage, reducing prolonged exposure to high-intensity visuals.
  3. Screen Saver Activation: Enable a moving screen saver after a few minutes of inactivity. This helps avoid static content lingering too long.
  4. Dark Mode & UI Rotation: Use dark mode and periodically change wallpapers or icon positions to reduce static elements.
  5. HP Display Center: While it may not show internal displays, it’s still worth installing from the Microsoft Store to check for any updates or hidden features.
