OMEN by HP Laptop 15-dc0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The pc fans are running at full speed most of the time keep turning on and off repeatedly, even when I'm not doing anything. The pc isn't hot at all and I don't know what to do.

Originally it came with 16GbRam and 1Tb HD, but the authorized reseller modified it to add 8Gb  of RAM and a 512Gb SSD. The lapop is working fine but is very annoying that the fans starts and stops randomlly even if the laptop is suspended!!!

Your help would be appreciated.

Regards

It helps to always include the full product number of your PC.

The authorized reseller reconfigured/upgraded the components?

Not sure what they might have done. Who was it CUK or someone else?

Without seeing it in person to know to what extent its happening, Im not sure what to tell you.

  • You could try resetting the bios to defaults. May or may not help.
  • Check the Task Manager to see if any services are starting up in the background that would cause the system to heat up momentarily.
  • If the Omen Command Center is installed, See if it has a Comfort Mode and other modes. If its in High Performance Mode, try a different mode. This can have some effect on fans ramping up occasionally.
  • Last resort, you might even try a factory reset (wipes the drive and reinstalls Windows).

Overall, you will need to contact the reseller for warranty help. Since they altered the system, they are responsible.
