HP Recommended

Gaming laptop Omen 16 suddenly stopped working, it would not start at all. No support from HP as it passed one year warranty. It seems like a known hardware issue and yet HP wants $400 upfront to check for issue. Very disappointing that it did not last even two years. Anyone experienced the same or similar issues? Any tips?
