Recently a single key (D Key) on my laptop (HP Omen 15) stopped working properly. I had to press down hard on the key for the input to register so I took it to a PC Repair place and they said I have two options. I could have them attempt to clean it which may resolve the issue since it really is only a single key on the entire keyboard but after they took it apart they said the keyboard was being held in by rivets which they'd have to break in order to clean it but they wouldn't have any way to replace the rivets.

 

So is that true? Is there really no way to easily replace this laptops keyboard? What the shop ended up doing is ordering a used shell to transfer my laptops parts into.

Hi @A-O_22120, Welcome to the HP Support Community.  

 

As this is a hardware issue, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer. 

 

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
