Hi,
I bought the HP Pavilion 15-dk1019na laptop but it thermal and power limit throttles when I'm gaming or video editing. Actually hwinfo shows 'power limit exceeded' even when I open Microsoft Edge or Chrome! It means a drop in fps in games and also reduced performance for my work. I managed to reduce the max temperature of 98c down to 84c-88c using Throttlestop but that's not really good enough in my eyes when I paid so much for a laptop to then have to waste all these hours and eventually having to reduce it's advertised performance.
Any idea how I can fix this problem? I can't undervolt as it has the i7-10750h cpu which HP have locked. I tried all bios versions up to the latest from last year being F.13 Rev.A. Oddly last night I installed all optional Windows updates some of which said 'HP System' or something like that. Then the laptop restarted and went through the bios upgrade process with version F.20. Any ideas what this is or what the changes are? I am still facing the same issues!
I had a long look around but can't find much on this issue with this laptop model. Is it faulty or is this intended by HP?
Many thanks
Jay
