HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-cx0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, so my laptop has been having a problem with both battery and charger. While plugged it actually gets bugged, for some reason it will say for a few second that it isn't charging after few more seconds it will charge again. Another problem is when I forgot to plug my laptop it will crash right after opening windows and worst, sometimes it doesn't startup at all.

I can't find any matching battery when I go to HP product search and putting my serial number and I can't really go out for someone to check my laptop in any authorize HP places because of the pandemic I don't want to risk it just to fix my batteries, if you know what kind of batteries for me to buy please do reply to this thread 🙂 Thanks!

Hi@Renz15, Welcome to the HP Support Community!Request you to follow the below troubleshooting steps from the document:-

Solution: Performing the latest BIOS update should fix the issue.

I have a few steps listed below that should help you resolve this concern:

Unplug the charge and use the laptop until the battery drains to 15%.

Turn off the laptop and turn it back on after 30mins.

Reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under device manager:
1) In the search box, type and open “Device Manager”.

2) Expand “Batteries”.

3) Right-click the "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" that is listed there.

4) Click on “Uninstall”.

5) At the prompt put a check in the box to remove the current driver

6) Shutdown the computer.

7) Remove the battery for minute and then put it back in.

😎 When the computer comes back up it should automatically find the driver.

9) Go to Device Manager.

10) Expand Batteries.

11) Right-click the "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" that is listed there.

12) Click "Search automatically for updated driver software"

Do the same thing with Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Embedded Controller.

Restart the computer and the issue should be fixed.
