hi I was looking to put an expansion hdd in my   15-ec0000na any body know which hdd it will except as the 2.5 mm 2tb out of my older hp laptop wont fit as its a little bit thick for the caddy inside any help would be greatly appreciated

Its specs

It does NOT have ODD (Optical Disc Drive) therefor caddy for HDD won't work. But it has 2.5" HDD bay/slot inside, you can add 2.5" HDD/SSD to this bay/slot. You also need more part as mentioned on page 33 of the following manual

Part is N/A and very hard to find
