Hi! My HP Pavilion Gaming - 15-ec0016nl (have NVIDIA GTX1660 Ti Max Q)

No Displayport on this notebook, and i think no virtualink on the usb-c port.

There is a way to play with psvr2 on steam?

Hi @Johnjovy,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.

I see that you are looking for information related to using USB C to display port connection from your Laptop.

Please find below the ports available on your Laptop.

The USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C™ port you're referring to, which supports data transfer at 5 Gb/s, does not inherently support DisplayPort connections by itself. USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C™ ports are designed for data transfer and can also support USB Power Delivery (PD), but DisplayPort support requires additional functionality.

To support DisplayPort, the Type-C port needs to have the USB Type-C Alternate Mode (Alt Mode) for DisplayPort. Alt Mode allows the USB-C port to carry DisplayPort signals along with USB data.

Here’s a quick rundown of the relevant features:

  • USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C: Primarily used for data transfer (up to 5 Gb/s) and can also support power delivery.
  • DisplayPort Alt Mode: Allows the USB-C port to transmit video signals. For this, the device and the port need to support DisplayPort Alt Mode.

If your USB-C port only supports data transfer and does not have DisplayPort Alt Mode, it won’t be able to drive a DisplayPort connection.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a great day ahead!
