Pavillion 15 cx0001
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I bought an SSD nvme m.2 for my HP pavillion gaming 15 cx001 and after I did the upgrade it won't turn on. I tried the usuals, disconnected the battery drained what was left try turning it on with only the charger plugged and won't do anything. When I connect the charger the LED indicator will turn on but nothing else.

@JayCee96 , welcome to the forum.

Installing a SSD, even if it was wrong, shouldn't cause your laptop not to power on.  It would simply not boot to Windows.  I suggest that you may have disconnected a cable while working inside of the case.  You should check all of the connections.

@JayCee96, there should be two letters at the end of the model number (nl, tx, no, etc).  I need these to find the specs for the laptop.  Let's not start worrying until it is time to worry! 😉

@JayCee96, exactly what I needed.

Have you tried removing the M.2 SSD and installing the hard drive (HDD) to see if it may the the SSD causing the problem?  Usually the best way to begin troubleshooting is put everything back the way it was before you did the upgrade.

Thank for the help also, I wasn't very optimistic about getting any response! I actually didn't even took the hdd out, since it was says I thought about having both in there. But I tried it also I remove my ssd an still nothing from my computer.

PD: your custom build is sick! I'm also trying to save some money for a gaming PC, I hope I can fix my laptop otherwise that's going need to wait a little longer

A:  Thank you!

Here is the "HP PCs - Computer Does Not Start (Windows 10, " troubleshooting section.  Read through it and especially the section towards the bottom of the page titled "Advanced Troubleshooting" and the section on Notebooks.  Some of the troubleshooting can be done without the notebook running.  It is done from the BIOS/UEFI.

It may be that your problem was not caused by anything that you did, but some component failed at the same time.  As I said, upgrading to a SSD should not cause the notebook not to boot.
